My name is Makiya, founder of Winsome Braids.

Winsome Braids was created with purpose — to help women experiencing hair loss or living busy lifestyles feel confident, beautiful, and put together without the time and stress of traditional braid appointments.

I’ve personally dealt with traction alopecia since middle school, so I understand how challenging it can be to feel confident in your hair.

In 2020, I discovered braided wigs — and that moment changed everything for me. It gave me a solution not just for convenience, but for confidence.

That experience is what inspired me to build Winsome Braids.

Every unit is created with intention, focusing on a natural look, comfort, and versatility — so you can achieve the braided styles you love in minutes, not hours.

With a background in healthcare and a degree in business management, this journey has required discipline, consistency, and faith — and I bring that same level of dedication into everything I offer through my brand.
